A dark psychological thriller of copycat serial killers, lies, and a grieving widow pulled into a murder investigation.

Lara Nova thought the worst day of her life was losing her husband.

Then she discovered who he really was.

After Daniel Nova takes his own life, his wife Lara is left drowning in grief and unanswered questions. While searching for a note, she uncovers disturbing photos, hidden files, and evidence of a secret life Daniel never shared with her. The more Lara learns, the more her grief turns into anger.

Detective Melissa Sato and her partner, Robert Lloyd, are investigating a brutal murder staged to resemble a Ted Bundy killing. The killer calls himself The Mimic, a murderer recreating the crimes of infamous serial killers while leaving almost no evidence behind.

With few leads to follow, the investigation stalls, and Melissa is reassigned to the barrel murders, a horrifying case involving women dumped inside barrels across the city. But when the prime suspect slips through their fingers, Melissa realises the killings may be connected to something far darker.

As Lara’s search for answers collides with the detectives’ hunt for The Mimic and the barrel killer, she’s pulled into a world of violence, corruption, and deadly obsession. With Jasyn McAllister by her side, Lara begins uncovering the truth about Daniel’s murder, but someone is already watching her closely.

And The Mimic is preparing his next kill.
