Chapter 1Léon climbed onto the bed and pulled me into the curve of his warm, naked body. Usually, he’d be cool to the touch, but whenever we were together, he ensured warmth. He’d just fed on one of his many tasty treats who lived at the Labyrinth, but that’s where it ended. He’d said he only wanted me even though he shared me with Sebastian, although never in the same bed.

He kissed my temple, then my cheek and down my neck. With one delicate caress of his fingertips, my body hummed for more attention. When he stopped, I moaned my frustration.

“You know what the doctor said.”

I frowned and turned my angry glare at him. “Just that I had to be careful,” I said and pouted.

“And we are. You already have one scar.” He trailed a finger over my swollen belly and traced along the scar that ran from bellybutton down to my pelvic area. I had more scars, but he wasn’t referring to those. Now that I had my memory back, I remembered that awful day when Scout was born. She had been in respiratory distress and they had to get her out immediately. The umbilical cord had wrapped around her neck, and if the doctor didn’t get her out in those few minutes, she would’ve met her dad in one of the worst ways possible. It was a blessing she’d survived and one I wouldn’t forget.

I groaned again. “You sound like Sebastian.”

“As I should. We only want what’s best for you and our son.”

I folded my arms across my breasts, but they were so engorged I couldn’t keep my hands there, so I rested them on my stomach instead.

The little guy kicked, and I gasped.

“He heard you.” I grabbed Léon’s hand and placed it against the side where the baby had just kicked. The little one was using my insides for soccer practice, but it made my men happy to feel him move around.

“I can’t wait to meet him.” Léon’s smile reached his dark blue eyes as he considered me and caressed my side. “He’s our miracle.”

Tears filled my eyes.

We knew how it happened but didn’t think it was possible, and would never question it. It was another gift from the Gods I’d gladly take. Léon and Sebastian were old and powerful hunters of the night. We never suspected either could make a child, so we never used protection. Me falling pregnant had never crossed our minds.

When I blinked, the waterworks started, and Léon kissed away my tears.

“I hope they’re tears of joy. You know I hate it when you sad-cry.” He pouted and gave me puppy-dog eyes. His expression was so endearing and strange all at once, because his facade was usually one of control and dominance.

I snorted, wiping away the remaining wetness from my cheek. “They are. I’m just emotional lately. And… I’m worried about you, Sebastian, Scout, and now this little fella.” I rubbed my stomach.

“Ah, Scout. Have you told her yet?”

I shook my head.

“You need to tell her. The longer you leave it, the worse it will be for both of you. What happens if you only tell her the moment she’s meant to leave.”

“I only found out yesterday. I’m trying to decide the best way to tell her, but I know. I will speak with her today. She’s coming with us on another case.”

“Good, spend time with her before she goes. You only have two days left.”

I nodded, and more tears flowed.

Léon tsked me. “I need to get your mind off everything making you sad.” Before I could reply, he was between my legs with his magical tongue and powerful fingers. With one hand caressing a breast, he sent his velvety power into me and gave me what I needed… a small release to take the edge off that wouldn’t endanger the baby.
